Ann Demeulemeesters’ Fall 2011 collection seemed pegged for wood dwellers with a penchant for high fashion. Somber black fabrics were ripped and reversed in typical Demeulemeester style, affixed with laces, zippers, and off center buttons, cinched at the waist with bullet belts filled with feathers. Amazing layers of leather in jackets and tops were balanced with straight-legged leather pants, accessorized with hair feather headdresses and long poet’s gloves laced to the elbow. Demeulemeester stuck to a monochrome note of somber black, until later when she introduced sequined tribal prints, long-haired shaggy goat hair coats and jumpsuits in red, and a few leather outfits in chocolate brown
