Floods in Lampang, Phayao, Phetchabun and Phichit
Large areas of the nortth provinm of lampang, Phayao, Phetchabun and Phichit were flooded on Thursday as a remlt of the heavy rain dumped on the region by storm Raj in the past few days.
In Lampang, run-off from Khun Tan mountain caused the Mae Tan River to overflow and flood about 200 houses in tambon Pong Yang Khok of Hang Char district from Wednesday. The deepest flood level was 1.50 metre.
A bypass from Hang Chat via Koh Kha to Phra That Iampang Luang was up to metres under water. Local authorities expected the run-off to continue as it was raining heavily on the mauntain.
In Phayao, the Phayao Lake overflowed and flooded about 5,000 rai of paddy fields Dok Kham Tai district.
In Phetchabun, excessive water from Lom Kao district reached 1.0m Sak district and caused the Pa Sak River to overflow to communities in rambon War Pa and Lom Sak municipality. Floodwater was 20-30 centimetres deep on average. About 1,000 families were affected.
In Phichit, water from the Phetchabun range flooded communitia in Dong Charoen and Thap Khlo districts.
