As we have been going through the Asia SAP instance merger, we have discovered that multiple product hierarchy definitions can no longer exist in the material master records of the Global SAP instance (PRD). For both Faucets and Fixtures, PH1-4 must be equal on the Basic and the Sales views and within all Sales Orgs in the material masters globally. This includes master data for materials sold, sourced or produced in multiple K&B businesses. There are a significant number of differences between how products, primarily faucets and service parts are handled in the Asia Pac PAR instance compared to Global instance PRD. As such the following decisions have been made:
1. Move current Faucets price point to be PH5 vs. PH2 (current location).
2. Move PH5, external material group field, to a new field on the Sales View so it can continue to vary by business / region as needed. Going forward, PH5 will represent price point for Global Faucets as well as EMEA and Asia Fixtures
3. Align Faucets PH2 globally. If Faucets material exists in PRD today, it will be the default PH2.
At this time a very large effort is being completed by the US EDS team to align all product hierarchies to the rules above in PMT, PRD and PAR.
In order to support this all product hierarchy material master changes and all product hierarchy value/string configurations must be completed by the US EDS team until further notice. This is to ensure that all systems remain aligned until the Asia Merger go live in November. This is required to support realignments for reporting and for successful testing.
Audit reports will be run weekly on newly created materials to ensure that the correct product hierarchy values are being populated.
Please submit all product hierarchy changes and configuration requests to the PCI-US PDM mailbox. Tara Wagner will work with her team to make sure all changes are completed in a efficient and effective manner.
Please send any questions on this new process to Tara and she will be happy to assist you in any way she can
