The above information was compared for preparations the dissolution
time of which (in acid or buffer media) did not exceed
60 min (Fig. 3). No significant relationships between time and percentage
of preparation dissolution were observed. It was found
that amounts of a substance in a single dose did not influence dissolution
time. High solubility was shown both by preparations that
dissolved very quickly (1–2 min) and by those that dissolved much
more slowly (14–18 min). For 56 preparations (that is 65% of all),
which dissolved in HCl within 60 min, solubility exceeded 75%.
This indicates that large portions of the active substances contained
in the preparations are available for absorption by the
organism.
