Geological sequestration or underground storage of carbon
dioxide is one of several possible solutions to reduce its atmospheric
concentration. Among the possible geological sequestration
options, storage within the deep un-mineable coal seams
offers one of the most attractive sites [1] because it enhances the
recovery of methane from a coal seam called Enhanced Coal Bed
Methane (ECBM) recovery in addition to CO2 sequestration. Due
to higher adsorptivity of CO2, the injected CO2 displaces the preadsorbed
CH4 in the coal seam. Most of CH4 is recovered and the
coal seam contains mainly CO2
