and the reducing power (FRAP) in GSEJ and GSEW are given in
Table 1. In both extracts a high concentration of total phenolic
compounds (TPC)was found. TPC ranged between 6.04 0.69 g L1
gallic acid (GSEJ) and 2.41 0.34 g L1 gallic acid (GSEW seeds
extracts). The values of TPC found in these extracts are comparable
to those found in other vegetal plants considered as important
sources of phenolic compounds (Velioglu, Mazza, Gao, & Oomah,
1998). The difference observed between GSEJ and GSEW extracts,
in terms of TPC, are due to the partial extraction of phenolic
compounds produced during winemaking
