Three polyurethane elastomers based on different soft segments were prepared and their properties were com-pared side by side.
The PCL based elastomer exhibits the excellent tear and stress-strain properties that polyester based elastom-ers offer, while retaining superior compression set and resilience similar to polyether based elastomers.
The SEM results of all polyurethane samples showed the existing of the microphase separation structure. Par-ticles of the dispersed phase formed by the hard phase and crystalline part of the soft phase grows bigger with the increasing crystallinity of the soft segments. The hard domains are irregular shapes and with the sizes of a few micrometers.
