cysteamine induces ulcerogenesis is unclear, but it likely
involves gastric acid-hypersecretion6,18 secondary to hypergastrinemia.19
Low intraluminal pH will inhibit gastrin
release through a negative feedback loop. High intraluminal
pH, as seen in acid-suppression therapy, will cause hypergastrinemia.20
