methods for the treatment of wastewaters w8–10x. The organic and toxic pollutants
present in treated wastewaters such as dyes and phenols are usually destroyed by a direct
anodic process or by an indirect anodic oxidation via the production of oxidants such as
hydroxyl radicals, ozone, etc. Electrochemical methods have been successfully applied
in the purification of several industrial wastewaters w11,12x as well as landfill leachate
w13x.
This study deals with the treatment of TDW by an electrochemical method using a
TirPt anode.
