Other tasks can be assessed by looking at examples of work such as correspondence, minutes, policy papers or reports. It is often possible to get a broad idea of how long this type of work takes. Remember that absolute precision is not needed; it would be enough to establish that a postholder spends say, half a day a week (10%) writing policy papers. If even this is really impossible the Manpower Auditor will need to exercise judgment based on personal experience and knowledge of other posts in similar areas. It is not worth trying to measure what truly cannot be measured.
