Direct observations and interviews were the methods used to
obtain the data on the population of domesticated cattle and
buffalo and their possible impacts on the protected area. A questionnaire
was prepared to gather information on the number of
domesticated cattle and buffalo, purposes for keeping them,
feeding areas, diseases and animal welfare. During the study, 1561
households (3.3% of household and 38.9% of villages in and nearby
the WEFCOM) were interviewed.
