Red cherry shrimp (
Neocaridina
heteropoda
) is a small freshwater shrimp
species from Taiwan, and commonly kept
in ornamental aquaria, with cultured aquatic
plants. Red cherry shrimp’s pigment is one
of the most important quality criteria and
dictates their market value. The pigment
of shrimp is affected by culture conditions
such as feed quality, temperature and water
quality, including transportation.
