The contribution of
crude oil in energy supply in Iran has decreased from 54.03% in
2001 to 44.02% in 2008. On the other hand, the contribution of natural
gas in energy supply has risen from 44.63% in 2001 to 54.93%
in 2008. The contribution of the other energy resources such as
coal, biomass, hydropower, wind and solar energy is only 1%, which
is very low in comparison with the other countries [44].
