1. Introduction
Cyanide is a highly toxic pollutant of surface and ground waters,which is derived from industrial effluents [1].
It reaches the envi-ronment due to its wide use in ores extraction (e.g. gold and silver),metallurgical industries and plastics production [2,3].
Cyanide inhibits the oxygen transference by the cells thus affecting mainly brain, heart and lungs, which require high amounts of oxygen in their tissues [1].
