Folin–Ciocalteu reagent with other compounds such as vitamin C
(Everette et al., 2010), which can generate a overestimation of
the results. However, in this research, such errors can be overlooked,
since the main interference, vitamin C, didn’t change
between maturing stages, leading to the conclusion that polyphenol
values are real and the difference is the result of the ripening
stage.
