Of the benefits highlighted for transgenically modified
soybean genotypes, the decreased use of other herbicides that
are more toxic than glyphosate, when both action and residual
effects are considered, and the easier management of the crop
are among the most important. As a result, the farmer has a
lower cost per bushel of soybean due to the use of a single
herbicide, with greater efficiency in weed control and a smaller
residual effect on the next crop [6], as well as less crop rotation.
