Results show that less than 20% of participants formulated arguments, counterarguments,
and rebuttals with valid justifications supported by more than one reason for scenario I
(Table 6). Likewise, the majority of participants generated arguments with valid justification
supported by one reason, or gave no justification/invalid justification. A similar trend
was found for scenario II, as shown in Table 6. With regards to NOS, 46% of participants
exhibited informed views of the subjective aspect of NOS (Table 7) while the majority of
participants held naı¨ve views of the tentative and empirical aspects. A similar trend was found
for scenario II (Table 7).
