In general, I pick up new things very quickly. I want to know that when I've "mastered" all the skills required of me, and I've gained a lot of experience, that I will still have somewhere to go that is within the organization. I don't want to leave an organization that has spent time/money teaching me, I would much rather be given new challenges and novel ways to use my skills. If I get stuck in a position where I can't grow or learn new things, I become unmotivated and I don't work as hard because I go on auto pilot.
