5.20 ROOM SERVICE RESPONSE
5.20.1 In response to “FIRE”, the person in charge will immediately hold up outgoing services, call back all staff, brief them on the situation and instruct them to remain in position.
5.20.2 Order takers will call up in-house guests who have made orders to apologies for the delay. Use the following phrase to answer guest queries:
A small fire is reported at (location). Our firefighting team is now investigating. We sincerely apologies for the delay of service and will come back to you when the situation is cleared.
5.20.3 Mark down room number for return call.
5.20.4 Once an evacuation order has been initiated, proceed to the assembly point for roll call.
5.20.5 Before leaving, lock up all valuables and documents.
If fire and evacuation happens between 1600 to 0800 hours:
5.20.6 Room Service staff to proceed to the fire control room as members of Search Team B.
5.20.7 Obtain instruction from the Duty Security Officer.
