Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has sent his condolences to Singapore over the death of the island state’s founding prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew, and postponed his planned visit.
Government spokesman Yongyuth Mayalarp said deepest condolences were sent to Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, his family and the people of Singapore.
Singapore's prime minister is one of Lee Kuan Yew’s sons.
Gen Prayut was due to mnake an official visit to Singapore on Tuesday and Wednesday at the invitation of the Singapore premier.
Singapore asked Thailand to postpone the visit, Mr Yongyuth said.
