“You’ve got two hours,” Packer said.
Sam entered the library and closed the door behind him.
Adam stood at the other end of the conference table, waiting for
his client. Sam stood there in his red jumpsuit. There was a
slightly awkward pause.
“Hello, Sam,” Adam said, walking toward him.
“Mornin’.”
“Have you seen the paper?” Adam slid the morning paper
across the table. Sam sat down and began to read. There was a
long article about them and pictures o f himself and Adam. The
story told how Sam Cay hall’s new lawyer was in fact his long-lost
grandson. The reporter had managed to find some family
background, but the article did not mention Sam’s daughter in
Memphis so Lee was spared for the moment.
