This study gets its importance from two domains as follows:
Firstly, theoretical importance of research: It is considered to be the first study within the researchers knowledge in Jordan which has investigated the relationship between reflective thinking and future problem solving among university students. In addition to, this study may enrich the Jordanian library with educational literature in this field.
Secondly, practical importance of research:
enhancing and improving reflective thinking among university students.
Pay attention the University officials on improving university courses and preparing activities in these courses to enhance and support reflective thinking among university students in order to use it to solve future problem.
Procedural definitions
1. the reflective thinking: Abd Al-Hadi and Mustafa (2001) defined the reflective thinking as a style of analytical probe thinking which based on analysis. Interpretation and objectivity. It is procedurally defined through the grade that has been achieved by the learner on Eysenck and weilson Reflective ness scale.
2. Future problem solving: the ability to use strategies and analysis to understand complex situation or problem that hinders the achievement in one aspect of life (Hamida, 2003). It is also procedurally defined as the grade that has been achieved by the learner on future problem solving.
Limitation of this study
Objectivity limitation: the study involves the relationship of reflective thinking with future problem solving.
Time constraints: this study was applied during the second semester of the academic year of 2015.
Place constraints: This study was applied among Mutah University students.
The sample: The sample comprised a simple from Mutah University students and consisted of 315 male and female students.
