The requirements in this specification apply to all surfaces and materials to be in contact with food. This includes, for example, the inside of lids, gaskets/sealings that may be in contact with food, and drinking rims. Parts not considered to be in contact with food are, for example, outer surfaces, material below a surface thick enough to prevent migration (such as materials below high-temperature non-stick coating surfaces), and cutlery handles, except for teaspoon handles.
