Jacobs IT reserves the right to remotely manage devices that receive Company information. In
cases where a mobile device that contains Company information is lost, stolen or otherwise
compromised, IT will take reasonable action to remotely disable the device and/or delete any
and all information and assets contained on it, even if the device is employee-owned. Jacobs
shall not be liable for the loss of personal information or assets stored on any mobile device that
also contains Company information.
b. User Accountability
Regardless of the circumstances, individual credentials (user ID and password) for any Company
system, including electronic communication, must never be shared or revealed to anyone.
Authorized users are liable for actions taken by any party enabled by these credentials. Violation
of this policy could result in disciplinary action towards the authorized user and the person
receiving the credentials, up to and including termination and/or legal action.
c. User Identity
Misrepresenting, obscuring, suppressing, or replacing a user’s identity on electronic
communication systems is forbidden. The user name, electronic mail address, organizational
affiliation, and related information included with electronic communication must reflect the actual
originator of that communication. Altering or copying a message or attachment originating from
another user requires the originator’s permission.
d. Handling Information about Security
Users must promptly report all information security alerts, warnings, suspected vulnerabilities,
and the like to your local IT support team. This information should be treated as Companyconfidential
and
must
be
handled
in
accordance
