National Park and Buffer Zone Management need to consider many dif-ferent purposes which have to be fulfilled and conflicts which need to be prevented. Research, tourism and the preservation of unique ecosystems and wildlife have to be achieved in the core area. The buffer zone is subject to lower protection, as it needs to cope with the demands of local sub-sistence farmers for forest products. Both national park and buffer zone management require long- and medium-term planning when residents are involved. It includes resource use and management plans as well as educational issues to sensitize and coach people as well as to improve their livelihood.
