The blowhole ratio, calculated by steps (1) to (3) below, shall be 35% or less. The blowhole ratio is measured by the procedure shown below.

(1) Determine a measurement line which spans the 25 mm of a weld bead where there are the largest number of blowholes, and which intersects the most blowholes within this section.
(2) Find the total length of all blowholes intersected by this line. (3) Calculate the blowhole ratio.
