Uranium
reactions are dependent on pH, redox potential and the presence of
complexing agents (Gavrilescu et al., 2009). At low pH uranium ions
form primarily uranyl cation, at pH between 4 and 7 ions occur
predominantly as hydrolysis species, and at higher pH ions create
soluble carbonate complexes (Ciavatta et al., 1981; Langmuir, 1978).
