increased levels of pCO2 and K+, along with decreased
levels of pO2, pH, and sO2 in broilers reared under CoolLED-#1
light bulbs compared with birds reared under
ICD light bulbs. These changes may be due to acute
respiratory acidosis. The decrease respiration rate of
birds reared under Cool-LED-#1 light bulbs may be
due to the inability to ventilate adequately based on
their significant bigger BW compared with birds reared
under ICD light bulbs as reported from the same individuals
birds in our previous manuscript (Olanrewaju
et al., 2015), thereby the levels of pCO2 in the blood increased
and more H+ ions accumulated, which lowered
blood pH. On the other hand, the higher venous blood
pCO2 and lower pH along with lower venous blood pO2
and sO2 may be caused by increased metabolism of the
