Dear Allstars,
The month of February and March will be dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness in honour of our Allstars who have lost the fight to breast cancer. We want to take this time to remind Allstars that early detection can save your life and encourage all female Allstars to get checked.
Breast cancer is a malignant tumour that starts in the cells of the breast. A malignant tumour is a group of cancer cells that can grow into (invade) surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to distant areas of the body. The disease occurs almost entirely in women, but men can get it, too. Symptoms may not be present in the early stages, but you can help yourself just by getting checked frequently.
Spread the word, tell your colleagues, family and friends to be aware. Often we don’t take things seriously until it happens to us or someone close to us.
