Materials and methods
2.1. Vegetal material
Leaves of creosote bush L. tridentata, tar bush F. cernua, oregano
Lippia graveolens, lechuguilla A. lechuguilla, and yucca Y. filifera,
husks of pecan nut (C. illinoensis) and stalks of O. ficus-indica were
collected from areas nearby to Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico during
August and September of 2008. Each vegetal tissue was dehydrated
until 4–6% of moisture was reached and each dried sample was
grinded in a miller (Thomas Wiley) and powder was sieved at 1 mm.
The fine powder obtained was stored in amber bottles or dark
plastic bags at room temperature until phytochemical compounds
extraction was performed.
