Three Functions that Determine the Time of Intrinsic Value
The time during which a state of affairs is morally good or bad is relevant
to the status of pain or pleasure in a variety of contexts. This is relevant
for the way in which desert and well-being combine to determine the
intrinsic value of a state of affairs and, in general, how desert functions.
We will consider whether states of affairs have an intrinsic value at every
moment in time or only over stretches of time. The reason this topic is
important is that it intersects with different ways in which intrinsic value
should be calculated.
