Suvarnabhumi International Airport
Suvarnabhumi Airport is one of the national priority projects of the Thai government in order to make the country an aviation hub in the Southeast Asian region. The airport is planned as the flagship of expanding development to accommodate future air traffic growth, estimated at up to 58 million passengers per year in 2008. Suvarnabhumi Airport covers an area of some 20,000 rai (8,000 acres). The new international airport is located km 15 on the east-bound Bang Na-Trat Highway in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakarn and is about 25 km from downtown Bangkok. The Passenger Terminal complex is accessible via five routes.
