Here, we describe variations which take place during periods ranging from one day to one week and follow different laws than the diel variations described by Torréton et al. (2010). The short-term scale is that of meteorological regimes, as described in Lefèvre et al. (2010) which may bring either precipitation for at least a day, or steady winds. Occurrence of such meteorological events lies in a seasonal context and, for example, steady trade winds more likely occur in austral spring than during the cool season when westerlies are more frequent (Caudmont and Maitrepierre, 2007).
