During studies of macrofungi from Bangladesh (Hosen and
Ge, 2011; Hosen and Yang 2013; Hosen et al. 2013, 2015), the
first author encountered a noticeable species of Phylloporus in
Sal (Shorea robusta) forests every rainy season. Morphological
observations together with the nuclear ribosomal large subunit
RNA (nrLSU) sequences analysis showed that it was an
undescribed species. In this study, morphological comparisons
with the closely related taxa are presented, and its molecular
phylogenetic position in Boletaceae is elucidated.
