collection.OurresultsshowedthatdietaryPintake,fecalPoutput,digestedP,and
retained PwereincreasedlinearlywithgradedincreasinglevelsofSBMorCMforgrowing
pigs ineachtypeofdiet(Po0.01).RegressionofdigestedPagainstdietaryPintake
resultedintheestimatedTPDinSBMforpigsfedthesemi-purifiedcornstarchdietand
the corn-basedpracticaldiettobe40.01and37.49%,respectively.Therespectiveestimates
of TPDinCMwerecalculatedtobe30.19and27.22%forpigsfedthesemi-purifieddiet
and thepracticaldiet.TherewasnodifferenceintheestimatesofTPDinSBMandCM
between pigsfedthesemi-purifieddietandthepracticaldiet.Insummary,ourdata
indicated thatdiettype(semi-purifiedorpracticaldiet)doesnotinfluencethedetermi-
