While this crosslinking route could be optimized further, the
results of (a) crosslinking a 3D printed part and (b) reducing the
anisotropy of said 3D printed part has significant implications for
3D printing. With the addition of TAIC to PLA, a commonly used 3D
printing material for extrusion based printers, we were able to
show an improvement in mechanical properties and an increase to
solvent resistance after exposing the printed parts to radiation.
