Uranium is a naturally occurring, ubiquitous, heavy metal found in various chemical forms in all soils, rocks,seas and oceans.On average, approximetely 90 Uh exists in the human body from normal intakes of the water, food and air [33]. Tobacco smoke (from two packages of cigarettes per day) contributes less than 50 ng of inhaled U per day [34]. In our samples, U concentration was in the range of 0.01-0.07 ug kg-1 whit an average of 0.04 ug kg-1 This value is negligible when compared to brooklime samples analyzed by Dudel et al [16].
