At Mae Huat Silvicultural Research Station, Mrs.Keawnapa Kittibanpacha described the research story of Lacquer Tree which has been derived from the royal idea of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. On 2008, they found a large amount of the Lacquer Tree in the natural forest at Mae Ngao national preserved forest near our station and defined to the native Lacquer Tree conservation area size 600 Rai” After that, they started research in phenology, reproduction, pollen viability, the recipe for anther culture, ecology in asexual reproduction and tissue culture for select the varieties of good breed and have a lot of varnishes under the project of genetic study and varietal improvement of Lacquer Tree for economic forest plantation.
