3.4. Intake and BW Change (Exp. 2)
The DM and ME intakes of the pregnant does were the same in the pelleted compound feed and soya waste groups. However, the CP intake of the pregnant does was higher (P < 0.05) in the soya waste group compared to the animals in the pelleted compound feed group. Supplementation with the pelleted compound feed and soya waste did not significantly influence the BWs at the start of the experiment (19.3 vs. 18.7 kg), at the withdrawal of the CIDR (20.2 vs. 19.9 kg), at the introduction of the bucks (21.9 and 20.8 kg) or at the final stage of gestation (32.7 vs. 34.5 kg), respectively. However, the BW gain of the does fed the soya waste was greater (P < 0.05) than that of the does fed the pelleted compound feed (Table 4).
