Fungal culture.A wild-type strain ofC. gloeosporioideswas grown by placing four culture plugs (0:50:50:5cm3) on DifcoTM PDA(BD, Madison, USA) plates, which were incubated at 25
C under light for 5 d.C. capsicispores were streaked on PDA plates and incubated at
room temperature under black light for 2–3 d to produce massive numbers of young salmon-pink spores.
Transformants were grown on PDA supplemented with 200mg/mL of hygromycin B.
