The aimofthisstudywastopreparemeltelectrospunpoly(L-lacticacid)(PLLA) fibers withrelatively
high macromolecularorientationandcrystallinity(thusrelativelyhighmechanicalproperties)forfuture
biomedical studies.UponmeltelectrospinningPLLA fibers inhotairflow,theelevatedenvironmental
temperaturewasacquired;andthe filaments/fibers couldbestretchedbythehotairflow and/orfora
prolongedperiodoftime.Theeffectsofspeedandtemperatureofhotairflow onmacromolecularor-
ientation andcrystallinityofPLLA fibers wereinvestigated,andtheresultsindicatedthatthePLLA fibers
with higherdegreesofmacromolecularorientationandcrystallinitycouldbepreparedunderthecon-
dition ofhotterairflowhavingfasterspeed
