century.Oneofthewaystouseenergyresourcesmoreefficient istoproduceelectricalenergyfrom
combined cyclepowerplants.Inordertomaintaintheefficient operatingconditionsoftheplants,
performing performanceanalysisisarequirement.Inthisstudyaperformanceanalysisofanoperating
powerplantisperformedwithactualoperatingdataacquiredfrompowerplantcontrolunit.The
analysisisperformedbyusing first andsecondlawthermodynamics.Energyandexergyefficiencies of
the eachcomponentofthepowerplantsystemarecalculatedandalsoparametricanalysisisperformed.
Afterapplying first lawandsecondlawofthermodynamics,energyandexergyefficiencies ofthe
combined cyclepowerplantarefoundas56%and50.04%respectivelyanditisfoundthatcombustion
chamber hasthemostexergydestructionrateamongthesystemcomponents.Accordingtothe
calculation results,improvementandmodification suggestionsarepresented.
