A high prevalence of a variety of parasites were found with the diagnostic methods used on samples from 100 stray cats on St. Kitts (Table 1). This is the first report of these parasites on St. Kitts and extends the range of islands known to harbor the organisms. Bowman et al. (2002) report all of the species found in the current study except Physaloptera spp. to be present in the Caribbean but do not provide details of how this was determined or the islands involved. In the Dutch Antilles (Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire), Rep (1975) carried out postmortem examinations of the small intestine, cecum and heart of cats and found a similar range of parasites to those described in the current study. Additional parasites found in Rep's study were Dipylidium, Oncicola, Thelazia and Spirometra.
