Companies that are serious about developing strategic sustainable supply chain transportation need to elevate environmental considerations when se-
lecting transportation modes and particular
carriers. Environmental considerations also must
be factored into supplier selection and location of
distribution and manufacturing sites. While envi-
ronmental transportation may not be a direct
driver of these decisions, it should be an explicit
consideration. To facilitate the consideration of
transportation and other environmental impacts
