In Buddhism, peace is one of the lessons that is widely taught to disciples. Peacefulness is the essence of Buddhist teaching, as in the saying “Peacefulness of Mind is the greatest happiness”. The word “peacefulness here” is characterised as Nirvana. In BUddhism, peacefulness includes the peacefulness of mind and society. To maintain peacefulness is to control his greed, hatred, ignorance and at the same time develop wholesome qualities known as the four Divine Abidings (Brahma-vihara). The Lord Buddha always preached his disciples to live a peaceful life and avoid violence; to overcome anger with love and to overcome vices with virtues.
Based on the above saying, all Buddhists could live happily with those who practise other religions. The Lord Buddha taught us to be patient, conform to his teachings and live peacefully with others.
