The dynamic mechanical thermal studies of filler filled
NR vulcanizates were conducted using a Dynamic Mechanical
Analyzer (METTLER Toledo: model DMA 861e). The
test specimens were subjected to cyclic tensile strain with
force amplitude of 1 N at a frequency of 1 Hz. The temperature
ranges from 110 C to 60 C with a heating rate of
2 C/min was used to evaluate the storage modulus, loss
modulus and mechanical loss factor (tan d). The mechanical
loss factor was taken as the ratio of loss modulus to storage
modulus, and glass transition temperature (Tg) was obtained
from mechanical loss factor peak.
