The Royal Initiated Khun Dan Prakarnchon Dam Project, Nakhon Nayok Province
His Majesty the King has initiated the construction idea and has named it “Khun Dan Prakranchon Dam” to replace the farmer name of Khuen Klong Tha Dan Dam. It was completed in 2004 and it is the longest reinforced concrete dam in the world. The water from the dam is for agricultural and consumption purposes. Besides. It also helps in the flood control as well as in the reduction of sail acidity
Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam built by the royal idea of the King Rama 9 for to the catchment during the rainy season to use the dry season. And control the water do not to flooding of houses local people, plantations and agricultural areas in the rainy season which constructed dam cover the formerly Tha-Dan Dam.
Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam is the dam consists of a main dam and secondary dam built with compacted concrete. The total length of 2720 meters in height (maximum) 93 meters, can get water flowing from the Khao Yai National Park, through Haew Narok Waterfall into the reservoir with a capacity of 224 million cubic meters.Visitors can enjoy the view of Khao Yai National Park from the front of dam and view of Nakhon Nayok city from back of dam. Also rent the boat to watch the waterfall is deep in the reservoir or by streetcar
