Mrs. Dover is planning a surprise party for her husband, whose first book has just been published. Because it is a surprise party, she will be going to the party together with her son, and Mr. Dover will arrive half an hour later. She doesn't think that it is good enough just to have drinks and snacks, so Mrs. Dover is going to have dinner catered. She thinks it will be wonderfully self-indutgent if they serve stuffed lobster, and even though it is very expensive and will be more than anyone expects, she has decided to also serve filet mignon. Because Mr. Dover got a million dollar advance on his bestselling book, the theme of the party will be money, so she war everything to be top of the line. She has invited Mr. Dover's publisher, who graduated fr college with Mr. Dover, and she has asked him to give a speech. She wants to make sure the speech clearly conveys just how hard and for how long Mr. Dover has worked on his and how much he deserves his success.
