blood cells. The occurrence of the variation at very low intensities is likely to be due to chance events during the first PCR
cycles that determine whether a fragment will be amplified or
not. Even though the repeatability is high and the detection rate
is roughly twice that of ocular investigation (Waldenstro¨m et
al., 2004)
