For one of my end of the year projects I had to design and make a type specimen. I have chosen to work with 'Perpetua' which is a serif typeface designed by Eric Gill in 1925.
The original idea was to write up and create a simple codex book. However after researching the typeface I've also decided to create a box and a stand for this book. Both to be made out of plywood, the idea was to fit the book and the book stand into that box (access to laser cutter was extremely helpful). While designing these add-ons I have tried to include many Perpetua characteristics to both the box and the stand. However I also did not want the book itself getting less attention, due to this I've ended up keeping the box relatively plain compared to my original ideas.
